Life Stability Support & Advocacy
Current capacity: Available as of September 1, 2026
I offer free (pro-bono) support to people facing life instabilities such as poverty, homelessness, and related complications. This service is my response to societal failures in adequately meeting the needs of people who encounter systemic barriers to necessary support because of disability, queerness, trauma, abuse, and/or other marginalized experiences. The work tends to blend emotional care with direct advocacy because it is uniquely challenging to seek and receive support when you are not being fully heard.
The emotional care component is front and center, as my clients usually know what they need but have faced significant challenges due to chronic mismatch between available supports and personal requirements. The direct advocacy component emerges from the emotional care work and often involves researching shortlisted community organizations and, if needed, calling them on clients' behalf to ensure the identified resources and services will meet particular standards.
The primary modality for this work is via real-time spoken conversations such as phone and video calls. I also provide supplementary support via text-based communication once a client and I have had at least two real-time spoken conversations. The text-based support is focused on logistical updates and scheduling to facilitate our work together. If this boundary on text-based communication is a barrier to you receiving the care you need I recommend contacting Thrive Lifeline, which provides non-carceral crisis, warmline, and group support via online chat that centers multiply marginalized communities.
